2011, Damascus. As protests flood the streets, Samira stands at the heart of a movement demanding change. Charismatic, radical and fiercely funny, she shares an unfiltered account of events as they unfold.
Thousands of miles away, a group of London academics follow her story, captivated by a revolution in real time.
Then she disappears…
Thrilling, funny and provocative, Samira is a new play by Carmen Nasr (Under the Shadow), directed by Emily Burns (Dear Octopus), with a cast including May Calamawy (Moon Knight), Joshua McGuire (Anatomy of a Scandal) and Sirine Saba (Phaedra).
