How our EFL programme began
We always try to get as much information about our groups in advance, so we can prepare their workshop, but not all groups get round to it. In 2008, we had one such group.
When they arrived, we quickly discovered they had only had about a months' worth of English lessons at school, so barely spoke a word. This was the start of our EFL story.
We had recently launched our official workshops for Disney's The Lion King, and this group was going to see the show, so we focused on physical storytelling, showing them what we wanted them to do -- and it worked. They understood the universal language of theatre, and ended up having a fun workshop, staging Hakuna Matata barely two hours later!
